Robert is a playwright and actor, whose play Vintage Red and the Dust of the Road won a Joseph Jefferson Award for New Work. He was also Jeff-nominated for his play Odin’s Horse, which won the national award for ecodrama from Earth Works On stage, and was a finalist for the NNPN Smith Prize. He is a Resident Playwright Alumnus at Chicago Dramatists and a former playwright resident at the William Inge Center for the Arts. As an actor, he has appeared at many Chicago theatres, including Steppenwolf, Steep, Jackalope, Strawdog, The Den, Wildclaw, Oak Park Festival Theatre, and The Agency Theatre Collective, where he received a Joseph Jefferson Award nomination for Chagrin Falls. He is married to Chicago actor Jean Marie Koon.
