Ray Leslee is an award-winning composer in theatre and the concert hall. Standup Shakespeare was in New York with Mike Nichols and F. Murray Abraham, revived at Steppenwolf in 2017 with Jeff Perry; Avenue X, an acappella musical about racial tensions in Brooklyn, was at Playwrights Horizons, The Kennedy Center and some 50 regional productions; A Steady Rain at the Guthrie; The Three Musketeers (national tour); Educating Rita and Little Egypt with Steppenwolf; A Good Man at the Vienna Chamber Opera; to name a few.
Romeo & Juliet For Orchestra & Actors with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra; A Chamber Christmas Carol at the Morgan Library & Museum; Maya Songs, the poems of Maya Angelou, with members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra; to name a few.
