R&D Choreography (Violence and Intimacy Design) is Victor Bayona and Rick Gilbert. We are always super-excited to work at 16th street, fresh from the thrill of designing The Hero’s Wife. R&D was founded in 1997 for the purpose of improving the power and effectiveness of Chicago area theatre through the art of violence design – choreographing better fights for better shows! We have designed violence and/or intimacy for over three hundred productions and films. Our work has been seen at dozens of Chicago area theatres, including Akvavit, ATC, Chimera, Factory, Lifeline, Oak Park Festival, The Paramount, Pegasus, Piven, Steep, Strawdog, and Theo Ubique.
