Debbie Baños is a Chicago based playwright/actor. Her writing credits include “Bell’s Palsy and Other American Side Effects,” (nominated for an ALTA Award), participating in the inaugural Chicago Theatre Marathon with her piece “Escape Velocity,” which was also a part of the Landmark festival and the Women Theatre Festival. Some of her Chicago acting credits include Harbur Gate at 16th Street, Native Gardens at Victory Gardens, Titus Andronicus with Babes with Blades, Adoration of the Old Woman with Urban Theatre Company, Juan Francisco Villa’s Don Chipotle, King Lear with Eleusis Collective, and Fefu and Her Friends with Halcyon Theatre. She has an MFA in Acting from the University of Arkansas and studied at the American Shakespeare Center. Debbie is a Southern firstGeneration SalvadoreñaAmerican who is in love with theoretical physics.
