Authors Natalie Y. Moore (The South Side and the upcoming The Billboard) and Karen Zacarías (The Book Club Play, Into the Beautiful North) were both named today as 2021 USA Fellows. They are one of 60 “storytellers, shapemakers, movement builders, and culture bearers practicing today” to receive this incredible national award.
From the United States Artists web site:
“Our Fellowships are $50,000 unrestricted awards that recognize artists for their contributions to the field and allow them to decide how to best support their lives. This year, we are grateful to present 60 incredible practitioners, spanning every career stage and hailing from 22 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.”
Chicago writer and actor Sandra Delgado is also a 2021 recipient. Congratulations to these three incredible women for this honor and to all recipients!
