A huge congratulations goes out to the entire artistic company of HIS SHADOW: A PARABLE for their 6 Jeff Nominations!
Under Wardell Julius Clark’s brilliant direction and leadership, along with his creative team of Sydney Charles as Associate Director and Regina Victor as Dramaturg, the three actors — Charles Andrew Gardener, Marcus D. Moore and Anna Dauzvardis — imprinted the characters of Teeny, Kodak and Rain Monroe on all who saw Loy Webb’s world premiere play. With Sydney Lynne Thomas as scenic designer, the whole production was inspired and unforgettable. A special thank you must go out to Michael and Mona Heath for their generous support of the world premiere of HIS SHADOW: A PARABLE at 16th Street Theater.

It has been surreal at the start of this football season, to see activism finally sweep throughout the world of American football. Not just with players, but coaches and NFL leadership and throughout all sports. Enough is enough. We cannot stand by while Black bodies continue to be brutalized. Loy’s story of Teeny showed us the courage and strength demanded of activism. Do we have the courage to do what is right?
