Kita y Fernanda is a look at class, immigration and women’s friendships as it follows the lives of two girls growing up in the same household; one the privileged daughter of a rich Mexican family living in Texas the other Kita the child of an undocumented maid.

Tanya Saracho (16th Street playwright-in-residence 2008) had four plays produced at 16th Street: Kita y Fernanda (2008), Our Lady of the Underpass (2010), Our Holiday Stories (2011 and 2014) and Enfrascada (2012), She now lives in Los Angeles where she is writer and co-producer for the hit TV shows How to Get Away With Murder and Looking. Her newest play Fade premiered in New York in January.
