Marilyn Campbell

MARILYN CAMPBELL has served as both a Board Member and Artistic Associate for 16th Street Theater for many years. She has had two plays produced at 16th Street, both directed by Ann Filmer, the highly acclaimed, The Beats and Mixing It Up (an original work developed with her daughter, Maria Merrin for the Words and Motion Festival). Ms. Campbell is a published playwright (Dramatic Publishing), award-winning actor (Shirley Hamilton Talent) and co-founder of the Writers’ Theater in Glencoe, IL (w/Michael Halberstam). Her co-adaptation (w/Curt Columbus) of Crime and Punishment garnered a Chicago Joseph Jefferson Award and has been performed in over 80 theaters both nationally and internationally. In 2017, Crime and Punishment will be produced in London, Louisville and Northwestern University. Currently, she’s writing a stage adaptation of Lived Through This, by Anne Ream.
